About Mrs. Doherty
Hi! My name is Mrs. Doherty and I would like to share a little about my life with you. I was born and raised in the Beverly area in a large Irish family. I have three children whom are all married, and one amazing grandson.
I am a graduate of Southern Illinois University where I received a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a special Education endorsement. I have been teaching in early childhood education for thirty years. I have taught in many different types of early childhood programs over the years, I bring lots of different experiences to my teaching.
I began working for St. Christina seventeen yeas ago, at which time I was asked to develop the preschool program for the school. The program has since then grown and we now have four preschool classrooms.
I have worked with young children most of my life and I truly love working with the preschoolers! I feel since this is their first time in a school setting, it is extremely important that they have a positive school experience. I try to instill the love of learning in all my students by making school a fun exciting place to be!
